PHOENIX (CBS5) -
A man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison in connection with a south Phoenix crack cocaine distribution ring.
Toren Watson was identified during a 5-month-long, multi-agency investigation targeting people, including gang members, behind the distribution of crack cocaine in the south Phoenix area, according to the Arizona Attorney General's Office.
At the time of his arrest, Watson was found to be in possession of about three pounds of crack cocaine. Authorities estimated it had a street value of about $40,000.
Authorities said he had $18,000 in cash and numerous items pointing to the fact that he was engaged in converting substantial quantities of powder cocaine into crack cocaine.
Watson will serve his sentence in the Arizona Department of Corrections.
