MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
The Montgomery Police Department is investigating the city's 5th homicide of 2013.
MPD responded to the 3400 block of Audubon Road Thursday evening around midnight in response to gunshots being heard. When they arrived, police found an unresponsive female victim near an apartment complex.
Police tell WSFA 12 News the woman was transferred to Baptist Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Authorities believe that an altercation led to an exchange of gunfire.
No suspects are in custody at this time. The case is currently under investigation and no further information is available.
