DETROIT, MI (WNEM) -

You can be a kid again at this year's North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The Chevy Camaro Hot Wheels display gives visitors the chance to attempt a world record with toy cars. It's a track that allows people to take a Hot Wheels car and launch it. The goal is to send the car flying farther than it's ever gone before.

"Right now the record is around 10 feet and the track will launch up to 15 feet. So pretty much everyone that goes up there really gets a chance to break that record. And it's just a fun way for consumers to come and have fun at the auto show, get to see the cars and then get to participate in different things in the display as well," General Motors spokeswoman Grace Morgan said.

When you visit the display you will have a chance to take a photo that you can share through social media. Then you'll go to the launch area where you hit a red button to send your car flying though the air. After you see how far the car flies you'll receive a 2013 Hot Wheels Camaro toy car to take with you.

Morgan told WNEM.com this display is all part of showing people a good time at the auto show.

"This is one of many engagements that we have here in the Chevrolet booth. We love to bring people in and enjoy the cars and have fun in different ways, too. You can play with Hot Wheels, you can make your own button, you can play a soccer game with Manchester United, you can make a flip book, so there's a lot of different ways that we invite our consumers to have fun while they're here at the auto show," Morgan said.

The North American International Auto Show will be open to the public on Saturday, Jan. 19.
