Gladwin woman held captive continues to recover

GLADWIN COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A woman who was shot and held captive for days continues to recover.

Deputies found the victim Saturday in a home in Hayes Township in Gladwin County.

She told authorities she had been held captive since Tuesday, and the suspect shot her and held her in restraints.

She escaped and ran to a neighbor's house for help.

Deputies arrested one person, a 31-year-old Gladwin County man, who they say has a history of violence.

He now faces charges of attempted murder and unlawful imprisonment. His name has not been released.

The victim is recovering at Midland Hospital and is listed in stable condition.
