Remus woman accused of killing elderly man

REMUS, MI (WNEM) -

A 32-year-old woman is behind bars right now in the shooting death of an elderly local man.

The Clare County Sheriff told WNEM that they found the 68-year-old victim with a single gunshot wound Friday at a home near Harrison.

The man was found at the home on Huckleberry Trail, just south of M-61 in Redding Township.

The sheriff's investigation led them to a home in the Mecosta County community of Remus, and that's where they arrested the female suspect.

There is no word on what led them to the suspect, or what charges she'll face.

Neither the suspect or the victim's name has been released.

WNEM will continue to follow this story and bring you updates as new information comes in.
