CHESANING, MI (WNEM) -
Crews stopped the gas leak in Chesaning and advised residents to return home.
Crews responded to a gas leak just after midnight in Chesaning.
Residents were asked to evacuate the area between Jackson Street to the north, Broad Street to the south and behind the tracks on Lincoln Street.
Those residents were asked to evacuate to the Chesaning Township Fire Station until the situation is resolved.
Residents in Chesaning were asked to go to Chesaning/Brady Fire Station #1 on Brady Rd.
Crews were able to get the situation under control around 1:30 a.m.
It is unclear what caused the leak.
