PHOENIX (AP) -
The shaky transfer of coaching power with the staggering Phoenix Suns has moved on with the team traveling to Sacramento to face the Kings on Wednesday night.
It will be the debut of Lindsey Hunter as the Suns' interim coach, the first game he has coached of any kind. Hunter, brought in by general manager Lance Blanks a few months ago as player development director, replaces Alvin Gentry, who left last Friday in what the team described as a mutual parting of the ways.
Blanks chose Hunter over Suns assistants Dan Majerle and Elston Turner, among others. Neither Majerle nor Turner showed up for any of the practices since Hunter was hired. Majerle has let it be known he won't be back and Turner almost certainly is gone for good, too.
