Zehnder's Snowfest kicks off in Frankenmuth

FRANKENMUTH, MI (WNEM) -

Zehnder's Snowfest 2013 kicks off Wednesday in Frankenmuth and is home to one of the top snow sculpting events in North America.

Professional ice and snow carvers from around the world will descend on Frankenmuth for the annual event.

The event is also host to the National Collegiate Carving Championship and the High School Snow Sculpting Competition.

Snow sculpting activities highlight Wednesday, along with Michigan's favorite apple pie recipe contest.  TV5's Liz Gelardi will be one of the judges for the contest.

Zehnder's Snowfest continues through Monday.  WNEM TV5 is a proud sponsor of Zehnder's Snowfest.
