PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) -

A man charged with DUI and manslaughter was given a guilty verdict in an Autauga County courtroom Wednesday.

23-year-old Samuel K. Robertson will be sentenced on July 30.

In January of 2013, 21-year-old Christopher Byrd, an Alabama Department of Corrections Officer, was killed in a two vehicle, head-on collision in Prattville.

The crash happened on Old Selma Road a short distance from the Autauga Creek Bridge.

Police believed Robertson, the driver of the second vehicle, caused the crash because he'd been drinking.

Byrd, who died on the scene, was an officer at the Draper Correctional Facility.
