KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A police officer shot and wounded a suspected prowler accused of pointing a gun at an officer in downtown Kansas City early Sunday morning.

Police were dispatched shortly after 1 a.m. to the area of Eighth Street and Grand Boulevard on car prowlers.

When officers arrived, they found two males that were prowling cars in a parking garage.

As an officer approached, one of the suspects produced a gun and pointed it at the officer.

The officer fired his weapon at that suspect.

The suspect was hit in the hand and was taken to an area hospital.

The second suspect was taken into custody without incident.

The officer was not injured.

So far, there is no word about what charges either suspect could face.
