Xavier Shaquele Roberson, 22, of Houston was identified as one of the suspects in a residential burglary at 6808 Hollytree Circle on December 24. Roberson was arrested by officers with the Humble, Texas Police Department on January 21, and transported back to Tyler from Humble on January 24.
Xavier Roberson was on the Lufkin Panthers Basketball team until 2007, when he transferred to Houston. After high school Roberson went on to play for TCU his freshman year in 2009 and then moved to Paris Junior College. After that he transferred to University of South Alabama and played there from 2011 to 2012.
University of South Alabama Athletic Department officials confirm Roberson is suspended indefinitely. He was a member of their team until Dec. 2011.
Tyler Police responded to a residential burglary alarm in the 6800 block of Hollytree Circle on Dec. 24. When they arrived, they learned that a burglary had occurred at the home. During this time, dispatch received a call from someone who gave a suspect vehicle description. Another officer saw the vehicle and tried to stop them. They then threw stolen jewelry from the vehicle and the suspects managed to run away. One of the suspects had since been identified as Roberson.
