LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
It's every college guy's dream, escorting a beauty queen to his formal. For one Texas Tech student, that dream may become a reality.
Sunday night, Texas Tech ROTC student Luke Guffey realized he was dateless for the upcoming military ball. One of his instructors nonchalantly suggested that he take Texas Tech law student, Denae Couch. Couch just happens to be Miss Texas and a finalist in this year's Miss America pageant.
Guffey decided he'd give it a shot and recorded a video invitation for Couch. The video was a parody of a popular Old Spice commercial. Guffey posted it on YouTube, never imagining what would happen next.
Couch says her friends instantly started tagging her in the video and she decided to make the trip from Dallas and accompany Guffey to the ball this coming Saturday night. Couch added that she's never had an invitation like this and she's looking forward to the event.
