BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -
Change is on the way for Bay City as commissioners laid out upcoming plans to community members during the annual town hall meeting Monday night.
A crowd of about 100 residents at the State Theater heard about a renovated City Hall that is scheduled to open later this year.
Plus a countywide water deal, expected to improve water quality, is close to being cut.
Dow Corning, condominiums and shopping are headed to the riverfront in two separate developments.
Meanwhile, some residents have expressed concerns about a plan to combine police and fire into one public safety department.
City leaders say public safety officers will save Bay City nearly $2 million by 2017. The first of Bay City's public safety officers are expected to hit the streets in June.
Officials say Bay City's future is bright and expect that hard work to start paying off.
