MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A Montgomery man has been arrested and
charged with a string of burglaries that happened at Montgomery Public
School locations.
The Montgomery Police Department says officers
encountered 29-year-old Tarus Giles around 2 a.m. Monday, January 28
when they responded to the report of a business alarm at Floyd
Elementary School on Augusta Avenue.
Police located a broken window at the site of the alarm and observed Giles running in front of the building.
Officers took Giles into custody and were able to link him to nine other burglaries at local schools.
The
majority of the school burglaries involved the theft of petty cash. A
list of the schools and dates of the burglaries follows:

After
his arrest, Giles was charged with 10 counts of third-degree burglary.
He was transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility where he
is being held on $142.500 bond.
