BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
As strong storms ahead of a cold front continue moving eastward, cooler temperatures are being felt throughout the area.
A severe thunderstorm warning issued for Livingston, St. Helena and Tangipahoa parishes Wednesday morning has expired. The warning was in effect until 6:30 a.m.
We continue to monitor the potential for strong to severe storms impacting the WAFB viewing area Wednesday morning. A strong cold front was the primary driving force for showers and thunderstorms late Tuesday night.
Any rains should end before lunchtime on Wednesday, with clearing skies and cooler temperatures into the afternoon.
The Storm Prediction Center had all of the area under a 'slight risk' of severe weather through 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.
We encourage those of you who own a NOAA Weather Radio to make sure it is turned on and properly functioning since many of you will likely be sleeping when the threat of severe weather is greatest. If you don't already own a Weather Radio, we highly recommend the $30 - $40 investment to help keep you and your family safe during severe weather. Learn more about NOAA Weather Radios from the graphic to the right or at the following link: http://www.nws.noaa.gov/nwr/faq.htm
As always, we encourage you to download our free WAFB Weather App if you haven't already done so. You can also track the approaching weather using our Interactive Radar: http://www.wafb.com/link/470963/imap
