A Captain Zodiac tour boat rescued a man in a canoe about a quarter mile outside of Kanaloa at Kona Resort on the Big Island.
Witnesses at the resort say they saw a humpback whale flip the man's 20-foot single outrigger canoe at about 2:16 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
The 60-year-old signaled to two nearby vessels with a paddle and was helped onboard.
He did not need of medical attention and suffered only a minor scratch on his arm.
