FLINT, MI (WNEM) -
Seven fire departments battled a blaze at the America Inn Motel in Flint. Cold weather complicated their efforts to put out the fire.
Firefighters responded around 10:30 p.m. Saturday to the motel on South Dort Highway in Flint. They worked for hours in the extreme cold.
The weather caused some of the fire equipment to freeze.
Authorities believe some actually lived in the motel. Over a dozen people are believed to be homeless. The Red Cross is assisting them.
A resident of the motel said that two people, who were allegedly naked, ran out of their room to warn people of the blaze.
No word on a cause. The fire is still under investigation.
