A Michigan hospital is rolling out a controversial new hiring policy.
McLaren Greater Lansing says anyone who tests positive for nicotine will be ineligible for employment. This rule only applies to new hires.
The rules also applies to nicotine gum or nicotine patches.
McLaren says this policy will create a healthier environment for patients, care-givers and visitors. Officials also say the new policy will impact healthcare costs.
