SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM/AP) -
Bridge work on I-75 in Saginaw will cause officials to close the thoroughfare during the overnight hours on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Construction crews will be setting a beam over the highway and the closure is necessary to facilitate the work.
On Tuesday night, Northbound I-75 will be closed at Janes Road from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. Wednesday morning with traffic detoured to I-675.
Southbound I-75 will have the two left lanes closed to allow for beam setting over the northbound lanes.
On Wednesday, Southbound I-75 will have the two left lanes closed at Janes Road from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. Thursday morning.
Motorists should expect intermittent 15-minute freeway closures occurring from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. to allow for beam setting on southbound lanes.
The southbound I-675 ramp to southbound I-75 will be closed with traffic detoured to northbound I-75, where motorists will take M-81, then back to southbound I-75.
This $29 million project will increase safety by improving the overall condition of the road and bridge. Click on the map to the right for a bigger picture showing the closures.
