SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

BREAKING UPDATE: WNEM.com received word around noon that the scene of several crashes on northbound I-75, south of the Zilwaukee Bridge, have been clearned.

For about an hour-and-a-half, authorities were forced to divert northbound I-75 traffic onto NB I-675.

There was no word on just how many accidents blocked the road. Drivers are urged to use caution on the snow-covered streets and highways in the area.

Also, in Hemlock, Hemlock Road is closed between M-46 and Washington Street for a Consumers Energy accident clean-up crew. WNEM.com is told that road could be closed for four hours.

TV5 has crews in the area and we'll have the lastest coming up at noon on TV5 News.

WNEM has received word that northbound I-675 has reopened after police responded to several crashes near mile marker four in Saginaw County.

The accidents were just north of the Davenport Avenue exit ramp.

Police said slick road conditions may be to blame for most of the crashes. There's no word on how many accidents occurred as a result, and no word on injuries.

Traffic was being diverted onto the Davenport Avenue exit until the situation was resolved.

WNEM will continue to follow this story and will provide updates as new information comes into the TV5 newsroom.
