MOUNT PLEASANT, MI (WNEM) -
A Shepherd High School student is in grave condition after injuring himself while jumping from the second story of an area apartment complex.
The incident happened Saturday night and involved a 16-year old. Initially it was reported that the student was a Central Michigan University student, but that was incorrect.
The student was allegedly trying to flee police after officers arrived on the scene on a noise complaint.
While attempting to flee, the student apparently slipped after jumping from the second floor of the complex and hit a guard rail. The man was unresponsive when officers arrived and was bleeding from his head.
The student was given emergency medical attention and was taken to McLaren hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
