PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A 36-year-old man is in the hospital after he was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run early Wednesday morning in Phoenix.

Phoenix Police Spokesman Officer James Holmes said the crash happened near Seventh Avenue and Roosevelt Street about 6:30 a.m. and the driver took off.

Holmes said a person driving by saw the victim in the road.

The victim is expected to be OK.

Seventh Avenue just south of Roosevelt was closed during rush hour but has since reopened.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Phoenix police.
