NAPOLEONVILLE, LA (WAFB) -

Two men were arrested in Assumption Parish Tuesday night after a deputy saw them littering. The sheriff's deputy then found what he believed to be a crack rock, open beer containers and a .36 Derringer pistol.

The deputy noticed the men in the 300 block of Jefferson Street in Napoleonville. He saw one of them men throw what appeared to be a silver beer can out of a parked car. He noticed the driver bring a silver can to his mouth.

When the deputy asked the men what they were doing, they said they were "just sitting and drinking." The deputy noticed the men appeared to be nervous and the driver kept putting his hands under his legs.

The deputy obtained consent to search the vehicle and found two opened 16 ounce beer cans, four empty 16 ounce beer cans in the grass next to the vehicle, a small yellowish rock believed to be crack cocaine and a small .36 Derringer pistol in the console.

Both men said they didn't know anything about the suspected crack cocaine or the gun.

During the booking process, it was noted both men are convicted felons.

Floyd Truehill, Sr., 58, of Napoleonville was booked on possession of crack cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm in the presence of controlled dangerous substance and littering. He has a previous felony conviction for DWI. Probation and Parole has placed a hold on him and no bond has been set.

Hosea J. Wiggins, 54, of Napoleonville was booked on all of the same above mentioned charges except for littering. He has a previous conviction for simple burglary.  No bond has been set.
