GENESEE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -
An MTA bus driver was killed early Wednesday afternoon after police said she was run over by her own bus.
That driver has been identified as 48-year-old Holly Wilson, of Davison.
Mt. Morris Police Chief Keith Becker said the woman exited her bus after finishing her route around noon. Investigators believe she put the parking brake on, but forgot to put the bus into neutral. When she walked out of the bus, it started moving.
A witness told police that she tried to get back into the bus, but she fell. Police said she was then run over by the bus's first set of tires. Investigators said someone ran to her aid to try and keep her from getting run over by the bus's second set of tires, but they were unsuccessful.
Wilson was rushed to Hurley Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. The accident occurred in front of the Save-A-Lot store on N. Saginaw Street in Mt. Morris.
