KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
Police say a man found in a drainage ditch in the south part of the city may be that of missing nearby nursing home resident.
A city water department worker discovered the body shortly before 8:30 a.m. Thursday on East Blue Ridge Boulevard east of Bannister Road.
Police say an elderly man was reported missing from the Corner Brook Place nursing home located at 12942 Wornall Rd. Wednesday night.
The man left the facility on his own but did not return.
The nursing home is about a half-mile northwest of where the body was found.
