LONGMEADOW, MA (WSHM) -
With the impending snowstorm, the town of Longmeadow has announced that trash and recycling pickup will begin early on Friday, Feb. 8.
Longmeadow officials say Allied Waste will begin collections at 5 a.m. in an effort to finish the routes before the weather prevents them from being on the road.
Residents are asked to put their trash and recycling containers at the curb Thursday evening. The trash company will not be going back for any trash and recycling that is not out. If Allied Waste is unable to finish the route because of the storm, any remaining trash and recycling will be picked up on Monday, Feb. 11.
Residents are also asked to bring in barrels from the curb once trash and recycling is collected to allow plows room to clear the roads.
