A Valley school security officer was injured trying to break up a fight between students on campus.
Agua Fria District Superintendent Dr. Dennis Runyan said students got in a fight on Wednesday and the melee continued Thursday when the security monitor was hit in the back of the head at Millennium High School on West Wigwam Boulevard.
Runyan said the parents of the of students involved have come to pick up their kids from campus. The students were suspended and could face expulsion.
The officer who was hit is one of five monitors on school grounds.
Runyan said school resumed and classes are now in session.
