LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (WAFB) -
Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office officials say an Albany High School football coach was arrested Friday. Bradley Ficklin was charged with malfeasance in office and felony theft by fraud after he was accused of stealing money that was supposed to go to the football team.
Ficklin, 34, of Livingtson was no longer an employee of the school district at the time of his arrest, according to LPSO.
According to police reports, LPSO detectives found that between August 1, 2012 and December 18, 2012, Ficklin collected $4,000 that was to be earmarked for an inflatable tunnel for the Albany High School football team.
Detectives learned the $4,000 was never turned in to school officials and the money was never deposited into the football team's account.
The inflatable tunnel was
eventually purchased for the football team with separate funds allocated by
Albany High School officials.
Ficklin was arrested for malfeasance in office and six counts of felony theft by fraud. He is currently in the Livingston Parish Detention Center on an $85,000 bond.
