Driving ban lifted west of I-91; buses, air travel still shut

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

Gov. Patrick has ended the ban on driving for all locations west of Interstate 91 as of 1 p.m. Saturday. Patrick says the rest of statewide ban on driving will expire at 4 p.m.

Patrick urged drivers to continue to use caution when driving on roads.

Partial PVTA service resumed Saturday afternoon, with some routes altered due to snow. Click here to see a complete list of PVTA route alerts.

Peter Pan has canceled bus service through Sunday. According to the bus company, the decision was made due to safety concerns for employees and passengers.

Air travel across the northeast remained shut down. Bradley International Airport officials say the airport will be closed until at least 6 p.m. Saturday evening, while Logan International Airport in Boston was not expected to open until after 11 p.m. Saturday.
