WESTWOOD, OH (FOX19) -
Police are
investigating a crash that seriously wounded a pregnant woman and killed her
unborn child.
Authorities
responded to an accident on Montana Avenue in Westwood around 11:40 a.m.
Saturday morning.
Monica
Brown, 22, was driving a Toyota Avalon eastbound on Montana Avenue when she
lost control of her vehicle and struck a utility pole.
The Cincinnati
Fire Department worked to remove Brown from her vehicle and transported her to
Good Samaritan Hospital with serious injuries.
Police say
Brown was not wearing a seatbelt.
Brown was
pregnant in her third trimester at the time of the crash. Medical staff at Good
Samaritan Hospital reported that the fetus would not survive as a result of
injuries sustained in the crash.
Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
