MT. ADAMS, OH (FOX19) -
Police are investigating the attempted theft of an ATM.
The thieves tried to take the ATM at the corner of Celestial and Filson in Mt. Adams.
Officers were initially called to the scene around 5:45 a.m. Monday morning by Duke Energy Crews who were responding to a power outage.
That's when they discovered a Fifth Third ATM had been ripped out of the wall.
Police believe the thieves took a front loader tractor from a city construction site at Riverside and Bains, then drove it up to Mt. Adams and tried to take the ATM.
Police say the thieves left the stolen tractor at the scene.
Fifth Third Bank reports no money was taken, but the ATM was heavily damaged.
We will continue to update this story as information becomes available.
