AURORA, IN (FOX19) -
An Aurora, Ind. man is facing charges in a crash that killed his passenger in November of 2012.
Aric Shinkle was charged Thursday, Feb. 7 with Operating a
vehicle while intoxicated causing death with a schedule I controlled substance,
a Class B felony, Operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death with a
alcohol concentration of at least .08%, a class C felony, and Reckless
homicide, a class C felony.
Investigators say Shinkle crash his truck on Billingsly Drive in Aurora on Nov. 29, killing his passenger, Robert Martin.
Investigators say a chemical test later determined that Shinkle tested
positive for alcohol and marijuana.
Shinkle's blood alcohol content was .126%. The legal limit in Indiana is .08%.
