A meeting was held on Monday to discuss a new birthing center coming to Green Township.
Dr. Dennis Wiwi, who will serve as the Medical Director of Obstetrics, gave a sneak peek of the new Family Birthing Center at Mercy Health - West Hospital.
Officials say it will be a top rate, all inclusive unit. Labor to delivery, recovery and post-partum will all be under one roof.
In addition, one of the biggest assets to the facility will be location.
"The families can come up, visit easier. They don't have to worry about the parking as much. Not as much confusion and stuff, and it's just nice to be able to have that community-type effort and actually delivering in their own neighborhoods, right within their own communities," said Dr. Wiwi, who has lived and worked on the west side for 32 years.
Mercy Health - West Hospital is set to open in October.
