MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
Mr. Delgardo Pitts has a passion for teaching history, but it hasn't always been easy. "It was rough my first year, almost like being initiated, but it's gotten better over time," Pitts said.
Mr. Pitts has been teaching at McKee Middle School for 8 years. He graduated from Alabama State University. He has a unique style to keep the kids attention. "Having a sense of humor takes the pressure off. Sometimes when I get a little silly they get silly too but we figure out the lesson together."
A student nominated Mr. Pitts for the Class Act award saying he's fun to talk to and he teaches so that all the students can understand. "I love it when my kids smile. It makes my day."
Congratulations Mr. Pitts on being a real Class Act.
