DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GA -
A not-so-graceful smash and grab burglar is caught on surveillance video painfully stealing from a Dougherty County store.
You've got to watch this to believe it.
Two teenagers throw a concrete block through the window at the Fast Lane Sunday about 2 AM. They dive through the window and rush into the office. The one in the red hood grabs ten cartons of Newport Cigarettes. After only 24 seconds, they leave, but the crook takes a hard tumble on his head getting out.
Take a look at it from the outside. The burglar does not appear to be hurt as he runs and drops cartons of cigarettes as he escapes.
It's not funny to the Fast Lane owner. The stolen cigarettes and broken window will cost about one thousand dollars.
"I believe that is the second or third time within the last month or two that store has actually been hit," said Sergeant Chad Kirkpatrick. " We've had other stores in the general area that's also been targeted also."
His accomplice is not wearing a mask, and you can get a good look at his face. If you can identify either one of these smash and grab crooks, call CRIMESTOPPERS at 436-TIPS, and you could earn a reward.
