BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
Baton Rouge Police say a man has died after he was hit by a car while attempting to cross the street.
The victim has been identified as 50-year-old Roderick Woods.
The accident happened in the 5500 block of Airline Hwy just after midnight. Officers say arrived to find the Woods' body lying in the road. An investigation showed he was struck by a vehicle traveling on Airline as he was trying to cross the street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and was cooperating with officers. The investigation is ongoing.
