MARIEMONT, OH (FOX19) -
The Mariemont City Schools Superintendent, Paul Imhoff, is heading to a new district in Columbus.
Imhoff accepted an offer to serve as superintendent of the Upper Arlington City School district, a suburb of Columbus, beginning the 2013-14 academic year. The announcement came on Monday by the Mariemont School Board.
He will remain Mariemont's superintendent until July 31, 2013.
"We are grateful for Paul's
leadership and collaboration and over the past six years, and we respect his career
decisions as he challenges himself professionally," Peggy S. Braun, Mariemont
City School District Board President. "Paul's talent to lead a school system is
well known throughout the educational community. We realized that with all of
his capabilities, skills and knowledge, coupled with a highly successful track
record in Mariemont, one day, someone would recruit him away. Sadly, that day is here."
Imhoff served as superintendent since 2007 and is credited for the building and renovation of Mariemont school buildings, being proactive about community engagement and more. He previously served as Madeira City Schools Superintendent and as principal of Wyoming Middle School.
The Mariemont Board of Education
said they plan to meet soon and discuss finding a replacement, which will later be shared with staff and community once something is finalized.
