INDEPENDENCE, MO (KCTV) -
A 14-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle at U.S. 40 and Sterling Avenue on Monday afternoon.
The boy was trying to cross Highway 40 on a skateboard when he was struck, Independence police said.
Paramedics treated the prone boy as his overturned skateboard lay nearby. The boy is expected to survive his injuries.
The crash happened about 5:30 p.m.
