Authorities find escaped work release inmate at hotel

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Authorities have captured an inmate who escaped from his work release post Monday morning.

Frankie New, 39, was apprehended at the Alamo Hotel on Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge around 10:30 p.m.

A woman named Sheryl Millsaps was also taken into custody.

Reports state New left his job at Elams Auto in Jackson around 8 a.m.

He was serving time for burglary and was to be released March 2014.
