HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
A Madison County judge set a new trial date for the father of the accused Discovery School shooter.
Dr. Iqbal Memon and his wife Safia are accused of trying to get their son Hammad out of the country to avoid his murder trial. The husband and wife are charged with hindering prosecution.
Iqbal Memon is now scheduled for trial on June 17. Safia Memon's trial is scheduled for April 15. A trial date has not been set for Hammad Memon. He has a status conference on March 14.
Hammad Memon is charged with the murder of Todd Brown. Brown was shot and killed in February 2010 during a class change at Discovery Middle School in Madison.
Hammad Memon is in the Huntsville-Madison County Metro Jail without bond. A judge revoked his bond after Hammad and his mother were apprehended in Texas in April 2012. Investigators say they were planning to leave the country.
