This week Governor Robert Bentley, the Alabama EMA, the National Weather Service, the Alabama Department of Revenue, and our office, Serve Alabama, is encouraging you and your family to prepare for disasters, natural or man-made through Severe Weather Awareness Week. 

In our state, we're no stranger to disaster. For you and your family, there's one thing you can do to prepare for any type of disaster, CREATE AND MAINTAIN AN EMERGENCY KIT. 

AND THIS WEEKEND, FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY, YOU CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE of a State Sales Tax Free Weekend FOR SELECT PREPAREDNESS ITEMS. 

You can visit our website, www.ReadyAlabama.gov to learn about items for your kit. Don't wait until disaster strikes, use this weekend to save a little money, and potentially save lives.
