RIPLEY, OH (FOX19) -

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal ATV crash.

The crash occurred around 10 p.m. Thursday night on Main Street in Ripley.

According to OSP, Gerald Polley, 47, of Ripley, was traveling northbound on Main Street when his ATV travel off the right side of the roadway, over an embankment, and struck a tree.

A property owner adjacent to the scene discovered the crash around 10 a.m. Friday morning and reported it to authorities.

Polley was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say he was not wearing a helmet.
