SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -
Five women were taken to the hospital, four with serious injuries, after their car crashed into a house at 344 White St.
Capt. Cheryl Claprood told CBS 3 that the four seriously injured women needed to be extricated from the vehicle.
As of 12 a.m. on Sunday, the car remained pinned under the house's front porch. Authorities were afraid to move the car, as they believed the porch was not stable due to the damage.
Claprood said no one inside the house was injured, likely due to how far the front porch reaches out from the house.
The five women were taken to Baystate Medical Center.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
