ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
City leaders want to know what you think about the Atlanta Falcons' proposal to build a new football stadium in downtown Atlanta.
The Finance/Executive Committee of the Atlanta City Council will hold a public hearing Wednesday night in order to get public input on the idea. Falcons executives have proposed building a $1 billion stadium with a retractable roof and a seating capacity of 80,000.
The proposal includes using a portion of the city's hotel/motel tax to fund 20 percent of the project.
"We're listening to all voices," Atlanta City Council member Kwanzaa Hall said last week. "We want to hear your concerns. We want to hear your questions. We want you to be a part of the discussion so that we can make the right decisions on your behalf."
The public hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday in the council chamber of Atlanta City Hall, located at 55 Trinity Ave. in downtown Atlanta.
