PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A 16-year-old boy is facing murder charges in the death of a 39-year-old Peoria man who was found Friday morning in his garage.

The victim's wife arrived home to find her husband dead inside the garage of their home near Thunderbird Road and 75th Drive about 2 a.m., a police spokesman said.

Police identified the victim as Steven Gibson. Police have not released how Gibson died.

Peoria police said while they were investigating, the 16-year-old returned to the home and admitted to officers that he was involved in the murder.

He was detained as a person of interest and after being interviewed, is now facing charges, according to police.

Police say they don't know the relationship of the suspect and the victim, or any possible motive.

Police do believe the teen acted alone.
