Born in 1934 in Mobile, Alabama Hery Aaron would became baseball's all-time home run king.
Over the years arguments rang out among ardent baseball enthusiasts as to who the better player was Willie Mays or Henry Aaron. That argument is still going on.
But it was Aaron who on April 8, 1974 broke Babe Ruth's major leage home run record. He hit number 715 off of Al Downing in the third inning. He went on to hit 755 home runs in his 23-year career. He had 20 or more homers for 20 consecutive years. Fifteen times Aaron hit 30 or more home runs for a season. Eight Times he hit 40 or more.
