ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Darton women's basketball team pulls away to beat Chattahoochee Tech 71-60 in the championship game of the GCAA Region XVII basketball tournament at Cavalier Arena on Saturday.

Tournament MVP Michelle Mitchell led Darton with 24 points.

Iesha Bonner scored 15 and Jasmine Wilson scored 14.

"We battled through it.  We found some way to get some key stops.  Michelle found a way to get some key baskets.  We finished. I am just really proud that we hung tough and got the win.  It was a battle," said head coach Lea Henry.

"It feels good.  Everybody worked hard.  It was a tough game but we pulled it through," said Michelle Mitchell.

Darton will host the district championship game Friday with the winner advancing to the NJCAA tournament.
