TUCSON, AZ (CBS5/AP) -
Fifteen of 17 inmates injured in a fight at a southern Arizona prison have been released from hospitals and returned to prison.
The staff was able to quickly stop the fight that broke out at 9:45 a.m. Sunday at the Whetstone Unit of the Arizona State Prison Complex in Tucson, according to Arizona Department of Corrections spokesman Bill Lamoreaux.
Arizona corrections officials were investigating the cause of the fight that broke out among 400 inmates Sunday morning in the minimum-security unit of the Arizona State Prison Complex.
Two prison employees suffered minor injuries.
Details haven't been released on the injuries suffered by the 17 inmates who were taken to the hospital after the fight.
The unit of the prison where the fight broke out remained on lockdown on Monday, while seven other sections of the prison are no longer locked down and have resumed regular operations.
Nearly 1,250 prisoners are housed in the Whetstone Unit.
No prisoners from the prison's other seven units were involved in the fight.
It's unclear exactly how long it took prison staff to end the fight.
