One of 'Horry County's Most Wanted' turns himself in to authorities

Posted: Updated:

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Another of "Horry County's Most Wanted" is back behind bars after turning himself in to authorities last week.

Maurice Stanley, 18, turned himself in to the Horry County Sheriff's Department on February 28, about two weeks after WMBF News profiled him on "Horry County's Most Wanted."

During the segment, WMBF News' Theo Hayes went on a ride-a-along with Sheriff's Deputy John Wright to try and track down Stanley. According to reports, he broke into a home in the 3100 block of Old Chesterfield Road in Longs on the evening of January 23 and took two rifles and two shotguns. The report says the neighbor saw it happen.

When Hayes and Wright arrived at the address, a woman was waiting at the end of the drive who said she was Stanley's mother, that he won't listen to authority, and hasn't been seen in several days. Wright gave his card to the distressed mother and hopes he would turn himself in following the discussion.
