SELMA, AL (WSFA) -

A Dallas County grand jury has indicted a suspect for murder in a March 2013 shooting death in Selma, according to  District Attorney Michael Jackson.

Joshua McClendon is being held in the Dallas County Jail on $2.5 million bond. He will appear in Dallas County Circuit Court in the next couple of months for an arraignment.

Investigators were called to the Beech Creek Apartments March 3, 2013 in reference to someone being shot. When officers arrived, they found De'Andre Palmer in the roadway next to the driver side of a vehicle.

Palmer, who had been shot in the chest, was transported to an area hospital where he later died.

According to the police report, Palmer's aunt told police that Palmer and McClendon got into an altercation inside the vehicle, and when they both got out, McClendon shot Palmer.
